Druids were first introduced Diablo 2 Since then, they have become a dynamic class. With natural magic, lycanthropy, and beast companions, the druid has a ton of build options to suit a variety of play styles. In this guide, I’ll show you how to run a hybrid companion/storm caster build and a Ursine “smash” build, either of which can be the key to the end game.
Beginner Leveling and Beginner Endgame Build – “Lightning Storm” Companion Druid
This druid guide is very flexible and a great way to deal with small, consistent passive damage and high active damage without having to juggle too many abilities. This makes for a very calm play style (usually). It also allows you to customize the build in many different ways to suit your needs.
The main idea is to use Wind Slash or Storm Strike to generate Essence (while also causing vulnerability to enemies) and then spend it on Lightning Storm. This can cause considerable damage to groups of enemies. You’ll also have some companion animals to deal damage to enemies and poison them. Finally, you’ll gain some passive skills that increase damage against vulnerable and poisoned enemies.
Later in the build, you’ll gain access to skills that will increase the chance of your storm skills (such as Windshear, Stormstrike, and Lightning Storm) adding immobilization, which is another debuff you’ll gain a damage bonus from. Immediate synergy and easy-to-manage resources are the name of the game.
notes: I recommend using Alderkin as your mercenary. His fire-building ability “Gift of Embers” gives you unlimited spirit while standing in a Fire Storm, which allows you to freely use Lightning Storm.

Beginner Leveling and Beginner Endgame Builds – Werebear ‘Pulverize’ Druid
The focus of this build is on transforming into Ursine form, both for increased durability and to use Shatter, a powerful mind-draining ability that you can enhance through suppression and self-healing.
Survivability is a key issue in this build. Until you get to some of the defensive passive skills further down in the tree. But you can alleviate this problem by investing more points in Ursine skills, such as Debilitating Roar, which reduces enemy damage by 40%. If you have no problem surviving on your chosen difficulty, you can choose Blood Howl for quick healing and sanity generation, but no increased durability.
Your choice of ultimate ability also comes down to survivability vs. damage. Use Grizzly’s Wrath to trigger Provoke more often, or Cataclysm to cause vulnerability to nearby enemies. There are plenty of options so you can build it to your liking.
notes: I recommend using Alderkin as your mercenary, using his fire-building ability “Gift of Embers”, which will give you infinite spirit while standing in his firestorm, allowing you to use Smash freely.
