Saint-14’s shotgun “Perfect Paradox” is a powerful weapon in “Destiny 2”. It was released as early as the “Curse of Osiris” expansion pack and was later released in Season of Dawn. It’s been a while, but Echoes Act 2 brings the weapon back in a big way with a new perk pool. It’s still a powerful engine with correct rolls and is great for melee-focused builds, especially in PvE. Here’s how you get the Perfect Paradox and the scrolls you should be chasing.
How to get the perfect paradox
Like the other Season of Dawn weapons that reappear in this episode, the Perfect Paradox is now part of the overall loot pool, so you can earn it from episode events. This means you might get Perfect Paradox as a reward from Breach Executable, Enigma Protocol, or the newly released Nessus Battlegrounds mission.
The Perfect Paradox is a guaranteed reward for completing the Echoes Act II story, so completing the episode’s story missions will give you a reward no matter what. Once it’s in your loot pool, you can access the failsafe in HELM to collect Echo Marks into new Perfect Paradox volumes.

The Perfect Paradox is a gun that can be combined with melee attacks and is great in that role. It has a range of extras that can affect the punch/shoot rotation so you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose – it really depends on your specific build and how you want the gun to work.
In the first column, the Dual Loader is a good all-around option that helps you reload your gun faster, pairing perfectly with the Reload Speed Master. However, brawlers may find better synergy depending on how you use the gun, as it will charge melee for you when you kill with Perfect Paradox.
In the second column, you’ll take advantage of this melee combat. If you hit an enemy with every bullet in the shotgun blast, the one-two punch can massively boost your melee abilities, making it great for taking on bosses and major enemies in melee-focused damage builds. On the other hand, Trench Barrel increases Perfect Paradox’s damage when you punch an enemy, so if you want most of your damage to come from the shotgun rather than your punches, choose this perk. Finally, Swashbuckler increases shotgun damage when you get a melee kill or Kill with Perfect Paradox; you may want this option if you’re running the melee version that’s better suited for clearing out smaller enemies.

The Perfect Paradox doesn’t perform as well in PvP as it does as a PvE weapon, but it’s still a very useful and powerful shotgun. It comes with the classic shotgun combo in sliding fire and opening fire, allowing you to significantly increase its range and accuracy. The Perfect Paradox is a strong contender as a gun for close encounters around corners that can kill an unsuspecting enemy in one hit or allow you to kill someone with a quick punch.
There are better PvP shotguns out there, but the Perfect Paradox isn’t necessarily a bad choice. If you want to bring it into the Crucible, make sure to prioritize its range stat as this will help you get more kills in tight situations.
