Artificial intelligence and decentralized finance will be jointly reviewed in June at Defaicon in Istanbul, a dedicated event that explores how automation agents and DEFI protocols intersect between blockchain infrastructure.
The conference, scheduled to take place on June 26, 2025, will be held as part of this year’s Istanbul Blockchain Week, organized by London’s leading blockchain marketing and event agencies as part of this year’s Istanbul Blockchain Week.
Defaicon Istanbul will convene software developers, researchers, investors and company founders to study the growing use of AI by blockchain-based systems, especially in areas such as financial trade, protocol governance and resource coordination. The event comes after the inaugural Defaicon in Dubai in 2024, and reportedly attracted more than 3,000 attendees.

What is Istanbul Blockchain Week?
Now in its fourth year, Istanbul Blockchain Week (IBW) is a regional blockchain conference that brings participants from the Web3 and cryptocurrency sectors together. It occurs in one of the most active markets for digital asset trading, and Türkiye has always ranked among the top countries in terms of cryptocurrency use and trading volume.
IBW includes a series of group discussions, developer workshops, product presentations and web events. In addition to Defaicon, this year’s plans include a summit on token real-world assets, a multi-day hackathon for blockchain developers (Istanhack) and an AI-generated music display cabinet.
The event is designed for a wide range of participants from protocol developers and founders to regulators, researchers and financial professionals to examine the development of blockchain-based technology.

What can we expect during Defaicon?
Defaicon Istanbul will focus specifically on the role of AI agents in decentralized financing (DEFI). These agents are designed to perform tasks that are often performed by humans, such as transactions, governance voting and system monitoring – the blockchain environment.
Scheduled speakers include Hey Anon and Wagmi CEO Daniele Sesta. The program includes keynotes, technical demonstrations, and open discussions on how autonomous systems affect the structure and operation of decentralized networks.
The event will also offer real-time product demonstrations and workshops, including tools related to protocol automation, zero-knowledge computing, and smart contract management. Past events include the public debut of trade agents and trustless coordination tools that are now being developed.
Istanbul Blockchain Weekly Ticket Holders can only access Defaicon.
