Stop me if you’ve heard this before. There’s one game that’s not that old that even idiots like me who were in their early to early twenties clearly remember its launch and were able to buy it without having to beg our parents, and it seems to be getting a remaster.
The game this time is Horizon Zero Dawn, and the ESRB listing seems to have leaked that PlayStation and Guerilla Games will release a game that was only launched in 2017 and come to PC again in 2020. Why? No idea, but this was shortly after the release of the not-so-expensive PS5 Pro.

As of this writing, the listing is still ongoing, suggesting that the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster (which was previously rumored to be coming soon) will be coming to PS5 and PC sometime before the end of the year, or that last bit in short, No release date has been specified.
If you’ve somehow had your memory wiped in the past few years, here’s the ESRB’s review of the game: “It is an action/RPG game in which the player takes on the role of a hunter (Aloy) in a post-apocalyptic world. Survive in the world, the player guides Aloy as he learns to hunt robotic creatures and animals in the wild, using arrows, spears, and explosive traps to damage and kill machines, boars, and occasionally human enemies.
Oh, and it’s important to remember that “animals and humans emit small amounts of red blood when hit, the game contains lines where someone mentions sexual content, and – don’t look at it kids -” “sh*t” this Words appear in text/conversation.
One could argue that an important part of remastering Horizon would be to give it some extra graphical sheen, but does it really need it? Is there any other game besides one from 2002 that really needs a feature like this? Probably not, but hey, as I mentioned before, an HZD with some extra bells and whistles sounds like the kind of thing it could be used to help push for a snazzy upgraded console coming out in November.
Sony has yet to confirm the existence of this remaster or the PS5 Pro, though, so we’ll have to wait and see if an official announcement comes. While you wait, why not marathon-watch The Last of Us, The Last of Us Remastered, and The Last of Us Part 1? Afterwards, you can try to forget some of the episodes in between.
