Ryan Reynolds confirmed in a statement Deadpool and Wolverine Channing Tatum’s Gambit meets Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Wesley Snipes’ Blade and Dafne Keen’s Laura in deleted scenes posted to his social media / X-23 survived the battle in the void together.
When the end credits roll, it’s uncertain if any of the characters who worked together to defeat Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrin) followers survived the battle. But, at least, Tatum’s now-iconic, heavily modeled “Game of Thrones” keeps him alive.
While the video doesn’t reveal much, it sees the character from behind, walking among several followers on the floor, and then turns around as the video pans to his face, where he grins.
There may not be other Gambit projects currently underway, but the fact is that he has Deadpool 3 Being alive means he could return for a standalone movie in the future, or appear in another Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
Tatum was originally scheduled to play a Cajun mutant in an independent film, but the film was canceled after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox.
In an Instagram post over the weekend Deadpool and Wolverine Popular theaters blink twice Star praised Reynolds for resurrecting The Gambit just when he thought he had lost him forever.
“[Reynolds] Fight for me and Gambit. I may owe him my whole life. Because I’m not sure how I can do something that means as much as this means to me,” Tatum wrote. “I love you, man. So does Shawn Levy. Truly a talented creator on every level. Everything happens for a reason. I’m so grateful to be in this movie. In It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. And pure badass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater!!”
A week later, Reynolds continued the love fest, praising Tatum for his superhero role in the record-breaking box office hit.
“Gambit is a role that Chan was born to play,” free man the star wrote. “His story is very similar to mine, he spent ten years trying to bring the most comic-book version of Gambit to the big screen. Remy LeBeau was woven into his soul and he needed to step up and deal with the problem. Gambit found his author in Chen. He’s one of the coolest, smartest characters in comics yet remains largely unexplored. I wanted more – from what I saw in the theater. Come on, you want it too. Having the opportunity to say goodbye to some of these heroes is just as important as rooting for the new characters…and rooting for Gambit is even easier. He’s one of the greatest, hardest-working, kindest people in the entire industry. one.
