Yesterday DC announced DC full input, a new initiative launching in October that will create a starting point for new readers and introduce the absolute DC Universe. Today, the publisher released more details about the stand-alone games that will launch the program, as well as storyline and creator information for the mainline and absolute DCU games due out in October and November.

Snyder launches this new universe Absolute Batman #1 by Nick Dragotta. In this iteration, fans will see a version of the Dark Knight that doesn’t have the money, mansion, or butler of the core series counterpart. Readers will soon discover what makes this Batman the “Absolute” edition when the first comic book issue hits participating comic book stores and digital retailers on Wednesday, October 9.

batman #153-154 (October 2, 2016) – Chip Zdarski, Jorge Jimenez, and Carmine Di Giandomenico take revenge with new storyline “The Dying City” Returns, in which the Riddler (a mysterious new superhero) takes an unexpected turn as a hero named Star Commander, and one of Gotham City’s greatest citizens is shockingly murdered batman Shipments are twice monthly in October.
Zdarski and Jimenez remain in office batman It’s a welcome, if somewhat unexpected, development after their ongoing “fail-safe” storyline felt like a natural ending. Readers have seen some of Zdarski’s take on the Riddler in the storyline, so it’ll be interesting to see him front and center in this new storyline.
detective comics #1090 (October 23) – After Gotham Nocturne, another of DC’s most historic properties welcomes a new creative team of superstars Tom Taylor and Mikel Janin, as well as New storyline “Father’s Mercy”. Years after the brutal murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne, ghosts from Gotham City’s past have been lying in wait to attack Batman since that fateful night in Crime Alley. This story will bring major changes to The Dark Knight, and things may never be the same again.
Taylor moved from Nightwing arrive detective This feels natural considering how closely the previous series tied into the action in Gotham City, and Janin is no stranger to Batman’s adventures. Of course, nothing will ever be the same again…
action comics #1070-1073 (October 9, 16, 23, 30) – Another base game from DC arriving weekly starting in October! Death in the Phantom Zone is a direct spinoff of absolute power and Batman/Superman: World’s BestWriter Mark Waid and artist Clayton Henry bring Superman into the Phantom Zone to prevent otherworldly terror from striking Metropolis. In the second story, “Supergirl: End of the Universe,” the Eisner Award-winner and Zatana: Troublemaking Writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Skylar Partridge take Supergirl to the farthest reaches of space in pursuit of a mysterious threat that only she can deal with.

Wade has done a great job connecting all of his stories since returning to DC, and Mon-El’s appearance in the trailer is a bit exciting considering the author’s love of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Supergirl’s backup story marks the return of the character Mariko Tamaki, who wrote the 2016-2017 miniseries Supergirl: Become Super with artists Joel Jones.
superman #19 (October 23)—Superstar artist Dan Mora joins Joshua Williamson in new storyline absolute power. One of Superman’s deadliest foes returns as Man of Steel and Supergirl (Lois Lane) deal with the return of a rampaging Doomsday, but how long will Lois’ newfound powers last? As if the end of the world isn’t trouble enough, one of Superman’s greatest enemies lurks in the shadows: the Time Trap.
Speaking of Legion of Super-Heroes, Time Trap! molawon superman It was announced yesterday but it’s still exciting news, although sadly it leaves him Batman/Superman: World’s Best With Vader.
wonder woman #14 (October 16)—Contributed by Tom King and Daniel Sampere, the tables are turning in Wonder Woman’s battle with Monarch as Steve Trevor He took matters into his own hands, with fatal consequences. But the end of Steve may be the beginning of Diana’s greatest adventure yet – motherhood!
No changes to the creative team or ongoing storylines wonder womanso it will be interesting to see how they make this issue a starting point for new readers.
Green Arrow #350 (October 23) – This oversized anniversary special features the legacy number as writer Joshua Williamson wraps up his critically acclaimed DC series of Emerald Archer creation. Oliver Queen faces the consequences of his actions absolute powerHe did the unthinkable to protect the people he loved, and the consequences of his involvement may have been more than his family and friends could forgive. This can’t-miss issue also debuts the opening chapter of Arrow’s next adventure, from writer Chris Condon’s new creative team (Enfield Gang Massacre, Texas blood) and artist Montos (Green Lantern: War Diary).
Williamson made Green Arrow A must-read every month, and while it’s sad to see him go, at least it’s in the hands of Chris Condon, who debuts in this series.
