DC is getting into the digital space—they just announced a partnership with Universal Comics Bringing more than 100 DC series to digital comics platforms. It marks the first new platform to offer DC comics since Comixology’s heyday.
Starting today, titles including Batman, Superman, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Suicide Squad will be available to read on the GlobalComix app and website.

- DC’s flagship series Batman Volumes 1-7, written by award-winning author Tom King
- Catwoman Volumes 1-6: The Copycat, written and drawn by Eisner Award nominee Joëlle Jones
- DOOM PATROL Volumes 1-6, featuring Grant Morrison’s critically acclaimed work that made DOOM PATROL famous and adapted into the critically acclaimed HBO MAX adaptation
- Joker Volumes 1-3 from James Tynion IV
- Sweet Tooth Volumes 1-6, written and illustrated by award-winning creator Jeff Lemire
“DC has created some of the most revered and revered pop culture icons, and we’re excited to make hundreds of their iconic stories available to readers around the world,” said Christopher CarterGlobalComix CEO said in a statement. “DC and DC Vertigo fans will have a wealth of content at their fingertips with 400 books totaling approximately 75,000 pages.”
GlobalComix is emerging as the successor to Comixology in terms of offering a wide range of publishers – it already owns Image, Dark Horse, Boom, Vault, etc., and has been working on converting print comics into vertical scrolling comics via their vertical projects. Marvel and IDW are still available on Comixology – Marvel also has its own Unlimited subscription plan.
DC’s own digital plans appear to be accelerating. Just yesterday they announced DC Go!, their own vertical scrolling comic series (webcomic). DC Infinite Universe, Their own monthly subscription service as well as Comixology.
