According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, the week of 7/29/24 it’s time to say goodbye to Eric and Nicole.
The two decide to leave Salem after EJ threatens to tell Holly the truth about Daniel’s death. They took baby Jude with them, but not Holly.
Sorry, Eric fans. Even if the ship does have a happy ending for now, the exit will be a lot more bittersweet than you’d hoped.

The popular couple will leave Salem on Monday
It’s a shame that the behind-the-scenes issues couldn’t have been solved in a better way.

Weeks later, Nicole learns that her baby is not dead, Gabby reveals further truths about who Jude’s father is, Nicole files for divorce, EJ becomes resentful, and Nicole and Eric decide to leave town.
Maggie even came around the corner and offered to let Holly live with her just in time so Eric and Nicole could take the kids to Paris without having to kick out the rambunctious teen.
This is another disappointing character exit. It’s a step above killing characters and then resurrecting them for no reason, but that’s not saying much.
Eric’s fans don’t get to enjoy their happily ever after, and to make matters worse, Nicole and Eric end up looking like cowards.
Escape to Paris won’t solve anything. If EJ really wanted to, he could launch the Dimera jet and follow them internationally, but since they’re leaving the show, he won’t.
This exit should never have happened, especially for the reasons Zucker claims in the lawsuit. It interrupts the story of Eric and Nicole dealing with EJ’s anger before it even begins, and knocks them off the screen.
Now that Holly remains in Salem, what’s stopping EJ from letting the truth about Daniel’s death slip away? What Nicole and Eric should do is stay put and tell Holly the truth before EJ lets her know the truth in a more brutal way.

Brady was the only one of their parents who could still cause problems, and he was too busy getting drunk. That leaves EJ, but with Nicole gone, does he really care if her daughter dates someone Nicole doesn’t approve of?
Tate and Holly could also bond over their mother’s dilemma, bringing them closer together, if they can pull off the ruse successfully.

Eric and Nicole’s storyline has been on a loop for so long that it might be good to take a break.

Traveling to Europe or Africa is a tired Days of Our Lives trope, but at least the couple went together this time.
Fans of Eric had to endure more than a year without Nicole in Africa, so their proposed trip might bring some comfort to fans who love them even if their reunion won’t happen on screen superior.

The tables have turned. Now that she had the upper hand, he’d better speak out if he didn’t want to go to jail.
This may also cause Connie to panic. Hopefully she won’t attack anyone else. We don’t need more serial killer storylines.
Kate and Abe were surprised during the casting process
A Familiar Face Auditions Body and Soul
Abe and Kate’s meta storyline will continue, and now that they own the rights to the defunct fictional soap opera, they’ll be hosting auditions to recast the characters in Body and Soul.
Some familiar people will audition, but it’s anyone’s guess.
Abe first realizes Nurse Whitley is lying to him when an actor impersonating his son shows up on the soap, so can that actor try to be on the show again?
Worse yet, could Nurse Wheatley herself return in hopes of reclaiming her fictional world? This is what Abe needs now!

Now that they’re staying in Salem, what’s next?
Since the miscarriage, Johnny and Chanel have been discussing their next steps. It seems like talking about this every other week is a spoiler.

Abe and Kate need a director and a producer, so Johnny might just find the perfect job.

Shocking news derails Teresa’s wedding and it seems like there’s nothing left for her in Salem.
Friday’s cliffhanger suggested Teresa wanted to turn herself in to police, but whether she would do so is an open question.
Still, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 29/07/24 say Leo will reach out to an old friend, so Emily O’Brien may switch roles again.
With Theresa’s story ending, it would make sense to assume O’Brien stays, although Gwen has never been the most lovable character and doesn’t need to come back.
Gabi’s problems could interfere with her and Stefan’s anniversary celebration
Ava’s secret needs to be revealed ASAP
Gabi acts like she already knows Stefan slept with Ava. Her comment seemed to sting both of them.

Ava is paranoid about the truth coming out, while Kristen orchestrates something so that Ava and Gabby have to work together. Anyway, the secret is out!
It would be more interesting if Gabby already knew and was waiting for the right moment to seek revenge on her cheating husband.

Every year or so, he would have a drinking binge. It’s not fun, especially without a good reason.
He was said to be drinking because he couldn’t have Teresa, but now it appears he’s in another destructive relationship. So far, Brady and Fiona’s drunken hookup is a repeat of what happened with JJ and Eve, except both are adults and should know better.
