Chad’s decision to tell the children that their “mother” is alive puts her in a corner, unable to tell the truth but unwilling to hurt Chad and his family any more than her lies will.
There was only one thing to do, and that was to convince him to elope with her.

Fake Abigail (still no name!) has been panicking about this only-in-Salem situation for weeks.
She doesn’t want to overturn Chad’s life with lies, but she believes that carrying out Clyde’s orders is the only way to save her mother’s life.
That’s why Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say she’ll try to convince Chad to go on the trip with her in response to his decision to tell the kids about her.
I’m not sure which is sadder: Chad being gullible and not questioning her sudden desire to leave town, or fake Abigail thinking she had to.
Chad is one of the most powerful DiMera families in Salem, if not the world, and he hates Clyde. Plus, his uncle is Salem’s top private investigator, and Chad has connections in the ISA.
If fake Abigail told him the truth, couldn’t she convince him to use his vast resources to protect her and get her mother safely out of Clyde’s control without causing any more trouble?
Yes, she’s already lied to him, so it might take some doing to get him to trust her.
Still, it would be a refreshing plot twist if she and Chad teamed up to fight Clyde instead of fake Abigail following his orders.
Sadly, that’s not the case most of the time in Salem, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say fake Abigail will up the ante by proposing.
Hope Chad doesn’t fall for it!
It may be too late to protect Chad’s children
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say Leo slips up in front of them
When the fake Abigail situation begins, Leo encourages Chad so he believes Abigail is still alive. He also knew that the child did not know.
However, Leo can never shut up. Not only was he a whistleblower in the column, he always managed to get a secret out to someone who wasn’t supposed to hear it.
It’s becoming a tired TV trope, but whatever. If it advances the story, I’m all for Leo accidentally telling the kids that their mother is supposedly alive, especially if it means he gets to share scenes with Thomas again.
More backstage drama in Body & Soul
At least the soap in the soap is limited to a day or two
If Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 have to include body and soul nonsense, at least it’s not for most of the episode.
Now that Bonnie has been rehired and Heidi has been fired, Bonnie is the one who made the demands and forced the producers into trouble.
Enough of this meta-storyline. Production has been moved off the screen to make way for important stories.
Johnny is jealous, but Alex’s attention is elsewhere
Sparks fly on screen, but off screen he gets hot and heavy with Stephanie
This excuse for a love triangle has to be one of the silliest stories on Days of Our Lives to date.
While Alex gloats and Johnny is thrilled, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 reveal that Alex and Stephanie are the ones getting hot and cold.
Alex doesn’t even like Chanel, so what’s the point of this competition for her affections?
Only Murder in the Building has a similar storyline so far, but at least it’s enjoyable.
This is annoying and pointless.
Eric questions Fiona about the night of the accident
Will he make her crack under the pressure?
It’s a shame Days of Our Lives left Nicole out because she always shines in investigative stories.
In her absence, Eric must get to the bottom of things, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 indicate that he’ll start with a confrontation with Fiona.
It’s unlikely that he would have gone too far, but he did know that she and Sarah had some secrets that they were hiding from Xander.
This should make for some interesting interactions between the two of them, although Eric isn’t usually very good at confrontation.
Xander tries to outwit Christine
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say he’ll tell Sarah about the proposal
Christine always seems to be in a position where she can use a miracle cure as a bargaining chip.
This story reminds me of her using John’s survival to force Eric to drop the rape accusations against her, and what’s even sadder is that Derek Hogestyn has passed away and is now unavailable to the story.
Xander can hold his own against Kristen, though.
After discussing it with Sarah, he will try to find a way to get the cure without giving her what she wants, making it even more important to clear Brady’s name through other means.
More than one person took action against Melinda
Both people hate her for different reasons
This is not Melinda Trask’s week!
I’ve never met a character that I didn’t want to be associated with, but I feel bad for her now.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say EJ will try to reveal Melinda’s role in the baby swap to stop Paulina from giving her her old job, this week night At some point, Eric will confront her about this.
While she should face consequences for her role in the baby-switching scheme, EJ isn’t any better and I hate that he could possibly get away with his plan.

Is Fiona’s goose finally ready to be cooked?
Sarah lies about Brady being the driver, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7/10/24 say EJ won’t let her give up her faith.
I don’t blame him, even though he did it just to feel pain and hate. Lying to the police is a big deal and Sarah could get into trouble for it.
Regardless, Days of Our Lives spoilers say she turns to Eric for help in trying to figure out who really hurt her. This would get Brady out of the trouble she got him into.
Sarah and Eric were once lovers, so Xander may not be happy with this development, but whatever love triangle thoughts he has in his head won’t be as good as when he finally learns that his mother was the one who knocked Sarah over So bad things can happen to people!
