Deanna Destito: So, where did this year fall in the Space Ghost Canon?
David Pepose: Our Space Ghost Year It was the pinnacle of my first year of storytelling on this book by Jonathan Lau, as we can see Robo Corp’s long-term explosion plan, the date went back to issue 1 and finally came true! Expect a lot of high octane action between the ghost of space and the Parliament of Doom…not to mention Robo Corp’s secret weapon against the universe. This is a dynamic progressive crescendo that will take us to the next exciting story!
Destito: What is your favorite part of using this character and the universe?
pimpose: My favorite part about writing about the ghost of space is watching his dynamics with Jan and Jace continue to grow, and he grows and grows. It’s fun to write a character about his character, but a person who always tries to do better – especially when the motivation stems from his desire to do the right thing with his adoptive partner. Sometimes it’s two steps forward, step by step, but the relationship between the ghost of space and twins is the emotional heart of the book, and when I write, it’s always my compass to me.
Other than that… this is a bad guy! Space Ghost has such an eclectic Supervillains that opened up many different tones and stories for him. It’s obvious to me when I watch the original cartoon Alex Toth The compelling design makes each character very personal, and being able to dig out every villain and find new ways to play is a treat.
But first, it must work with artist Jonathan Lau Andrew Dalhouseand letters Taylor Esposito. Space Ghost’s success is 100% team effort and seeing directly at all the ways Jonathan, Andrew and Taylor lift the material is such an exciting experience. Without them, the book wouldn’t work properly and they kept inspiring me to bring my A game.
DESTITO: What impact do fans expect to see the series have?
pimpose: The threat of the ghost of space always comes from two places – his villain threatens the known universe and his vibrant people with Jan and Jace. I can’t spoil the details, but what I can say is that there will be some big developments in the annual development that will have a profound ripple effect on the ghost of space and their families.
DESTITO: Can you make fun of the future of the ghost of space?
pimpose: I’ve always been a big believer, the rogue gallery of Space Ghosts is not limited to the Doom Commission, but we’ll soon see some exciting new villains! Another thing I can say is that Space Ghost’s adventure scale will range from epic scales we’ve never seen before to epic scales, so stay tuned!
DESTITO: We’ve seen a lot of dynamic covers about these issues. How much input do you have to them?
pimpose: Actually, I didn’t see the cover until the solicitation dropped, so when they came out, I would be as excited and surprised as you guys! Our cover team really went all out in this series and we’ll soon have some really exciting covers – including a bucket list artist of all time, I can’t believe their work will be awarded to our books!
