Good news for Apple TV fans dark matter: is back for a second season.
The sci-fi drama was renewed over the weekend after its premiere season ended in late June. Matt Cherniss, AppleTV’s head of programming, said the series “has taken the world by storm, igniting viewers’ imaginations and becoming a beloved and integral part of Apple’s world-class sci-fi slate. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Blake Crouch, Sony partners, as well as the rest of the creative team and cast… In the new season, it will captivate viewers with even more twists and turns as we delve deeper into the mysteries of the multiverse.
Blake Crouch, showrunner and writer of the novel the series is based on, added that over the course of the first season, the creative team discovered that “there’s a lot more story to tell. We’ve only scratched the surface of these characters, who are fighting to survive.” to fight and find a way home in the midst of a mind-bending reality. Thank you to everyone who tuned in to watch Season 1…you were so good to us.
dark matter Joel Egerton stars as Jason Dessen, a Chicago physicist kidnapped by an alternate reality version of himself. As his alter ego lives the same life as the other, Jason #01 sets out to find his way home. Viewers are clearly interested in it, and it’s another great entry into the sci-fi section of AppleTV’s catalog; the press release’s title checks in with the upcoming season silo and severance payplus likes for all mankind and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Apple hasn’t given a release window for Season 2, but hopefully it won’t be long before we see what’s next for the Jetsons.
