In an email sent to the user and a notice was posted on the official website Dark Horse Comics Announce they are closing Dark horse numbers (DHD) As of February 24, 2025 to today, comics are no longer available for purchase on the platform. The email and FAQ details the desktop version will be “final retirement” but will continue to be “available at least in the summer of 2025” while iOS readers will have to download any books they purchase from and their sister apps Plants and Zombies Comics:
Sales through the DHD website and iOS sales of the Dark Horse Comics and Plants vs. Zombie Comics app end with this date. Users can continue to log in to the website (digital.darkhorse.com) and read comics in bookshelf.
Effective March 31, 2025will no longer support Dark Horse Comics and Plants and Zombie Comics apps. Encourage users to download books on bookshelf March 30, 2025. The ability to download books to the device cannot be guaranteed after this date. For access through the website, users who do not have a DHD account should create one and sync it to the app March 30, 2025.
