Superman Unlimited is the first partnership between writer Dan Slott and artist Rafael Albuquerque, and is the first DC series for Slott, who has spent most of his career at Marvel, working on some high-profile titles such as The Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Fouretc. This isn’t Slott’s first DC title, though, as the writer has previously written for a number of DC’s all-ages titles, including The Adventures of Batman, Justice League Adventuresand Looney Tunesback in the late 90s and early 00s.
In a statement announcing the new series and his return to DC, Slott described his expectations for Superman’s adventures:
“He’s the first and greatest superhero of all time, and I’ve been waiting my whole life to tell his story,” Slott said, “not just because of all the amazing powers he has, but because of who he is inside. Raphael Albuquerque and I will take him – and you – to places you’ll want to escape to every month with millions of new friends and foes for Superman, Lois, supporting characters, classic Rogues, and more. Superman Unlimited A ten-page preview will be available at DC All In Free Comic Book Day Special Edition #1, in stores Saturday, May 3rd. The first issue of the series will be released on Wednesday, May 21, with the main cover by Albuquerque and Maiolo, with different covers by artists to be announced.
