Crayola has announced next year’s Creative Week. The virtual event “Imagination in Action” nurtures children’s creativity through a week-long celebration. Matthew McConaughey, Henry Winkler, Lin Oliver, Mo Willems, Phillipa Soo and many more authors, illustrators and Celebrities have been invited to the event, which is scheduled to take place from January 27 to February 27. 2, 2025.
Creativity Week is part of the company’s creative campaign, which emphasizes the importance of nurturing children’s creativity. Crayola believes creativity builds life skills and helps children reach their full potential; adults are encouraged to cultivate creativity every day.
Next year’s Creative Week will unite more than 6 million children across six continents and 100 countries through educators and caregivers, who will receive free content and educational activities. Prizes will be awarded daily and virtual school assemblies will be live-streamed, connecting children around the world. Each day features a different theme and celebrity guest:
- Monday, January 27: Life Lessons from Author Matthew McConaughey and Illustrator Renée Kurilla
- Tuesday, January 28: Transformation and Collaboration with Writer and Actor Henry Winkler, Writer Lin Oliver, and Illustrator Dan Santat
- Wednesday, January 29: Abstract Thinking with children’s author-illustrator and artist Mo Willems
- Thursday, January. 30: Gain confidence with writer and actor Phillipa Soo, author Maris Pasquale Doran and illustrator Qin Leng
- Friday, January 31: Flow Like Water, join NASA scientist and U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón and illustrator Peter Sís as well as actors Jennifer Aniston and Quinta Brunson, 14-year-old musician Nandi Bushell, and surfer Maya Gabeira at the Global School Assembly, and more
- Saturday, February 1: Chat the future with author and 19-year-old entrepreneur Mikaila Ulmer
- Sunday, February 2: Overcoming Fear with Writer and Actor Max Greenfield and Illustrator James Serafino
These activities will provide children with the tools to turn their ideas into reality while encouraging innovation and imagination. These activities meet AASL National School Library Standards and can be completed within a class with minimal preparation time. Materials are available in eight languages and meet educational standards in 15 countries.
