Courteney Cox is the only actress to have appeared in every Scream movie since 1996. Scream 7, but she was not actually confirmed to reprise her role as Gale Weathers in the next sequel. And she doesn’t seem to be in a hurry.

Cox also expressed her enthusiasm for director Kevin Williamson (the series’ original screenwriter), who has signed on to bring Scream 7 to the big screen. “You couldn’t have a better choice,” Cox pointed out. “This will be fun.”
So far, the only actor who has agreed to return for Scream 7 is Neve Campbell, the actress who turned down the role of Sidney Pugh in Scream 6 due to a salary dispute. Sydney Prescott. But if Cox gets her wish, she’d love to see her ex-husband David Arquette reprise his role as Dewey Riley, despite his on-screen death in the fifth film.
“I understand their reasons [killed off Dewey]but wow! Talk about a missed role,” Cox said. “Dewey is loved by Scream fans. They had to find a way.
The original version of Scream 7 was set to star Melissa Barerra and Jenna Ortega as Carpenter sisters Sam and Tara ). However, Barrera was fired from the film for making comments on social media about the war in Gaza, while Ortega exited the sequel, citing Wednesday’s Season 2 schedule.
