One of the projects they are looking to develop includes a possible prequel series focusing on the classic legacy character Mr. Miyagi.

He said: “Of course! We consider derivatives cobra kai all the time. cobra kai To some extent, it is itself a derivative The Karate Kid. We remove bullies from karate kidwe took that branch and created our own tree with it, and we felt like we could do that with any character from the show.
“We definitely thought about that when we connected all the characters. We thought about the fun of following their futures, but also, we thought about the past. That’s one of the reasons we did Miyagi Box Stories this season.
“It opens up everything These questions about Mr. Miyagi and his life, it’s something we’ve been wanting to do for a while.
“We interviewed Robert Mark Kamen, the screenwriter of the original novel karate kid The whole movie is based on his Okinawan karate teacher; we’ve been talking to him about all of Miyagi’s backstory, which is really helpful for what we’re going to do in season six.
“Now that we’re done, we can really start working on this stuff. We just focused on cobra kai and get it done. Right now, we’re editing the last few episodes. Once that’s done, we hope to have some exciting things to do…”
When asked if he would make a Miyagi series, Schlossberg continued: “I would say we definitely want to do it and have been discussing it.
“But the point has always been cobra kai. We’ll see exactly what path we take on derivatives as we finish this, but it’s definitely something we’ve always wanted to do. It’s just that we want to wait until it’s done cobra kai Before we get into that.
I’m interested in exploring a Mr. Miyagi spin-off! I’ve always been curious about his past, especially after The Karate Kid: Part 2 . Now that Cobra Kai Season 6 will reveal more of his mysterious past, I’m curious to see how they’ll play with that in this story!
