Chloë Grace Moretz (kick ass, sigh, wrong education cameron post) has signed on to star in and executive produce a TV adaptation of a true crime podcast my mother’s murder.
Launching this week on Audible, the ten-part audio series is a podcast created by Lauren Malloy Tells how she believed her mother died of a heart attack, but it turned out she had been murdered.
This Pod is produced by AYR Media, the company behind The Case of Jon Bennett Ramsey and scam queenIn 1993, Malloy uncovered the shocking truth about the death of his mother, Lori.
Her mother died when Malloy was an infant, and she was raised to believe that her death was natural. When she discovers that her mother’s death is actually an unsolved murder, she sets off on a journey to find the truth.
The podcast follows Malloy as she confronts her family, interviews old friends, and unearths hidden evidence about her mother’s life and death. Her investigation brings her face to face with suspicious figures from her mother’s past, uncovering conflicting stories and disturbing truths, and ultimately leads to a potential breakthrough in a decades-long cold case.
Moretz and MGM Television are teaming up to adapt the story. Moretz will executive produce alongside AYR Media’s Aliza Rosen, Toluca Pictures’ Steve Stark and Stacey Levin, and Audible’s Jackie Levine. Malloy will also serve as a showrunner on the series.
