The Marine Corps Toy Reserve Toy Program is continuing its annual Christmas in July event. This summer, for the fourth year in a row, Toys for Tots is partnering with local nonprofits across the U.S. to bring new toys and Christmas cheer to underprivileged children.
This initiative supports Toys for Tots’ mission to bring joy to struggling children year-round, especially as inflation and financial circumstances impact families. As families cope with the rising costs of groceries, gas and other necessities, year-round programs including Christmas in July provide comfort and normalcy for children.
“Demand is not seasonal, and neither is children’s toys,” said U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Jim Rust, retired, president and CEO of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. “With the rising cost of living and other financial challenges, parents are finding it increasingly difficult to pay their bills and provide for their families. Buying toys, books or games for their children can seem completely out of reach. With the support of our generous donors, we can Make sure every child’s future is as bright as possible and spread the magic during the July holidays.
