In stark contrast to the heavy drama, the episode deftly uses Herman’s subplot to lighten the mood. He tried to find a scent that his wife would like and ended up making an interesting discovery – the scent came from psoriasis lotion. It’s a humorous moment that gives viewers a break from an intense episode and reminds us why “Chicago Fire” excels at balancing drama and charm.

“On the Edge” keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, with enough mystery and tension to ensure we’ll tune in next week. Between complicated relationships, a looming decision about Damon’s future, and the ongoing drama of Firehouse 51, this episode is a great example of how the show continues to captivate viewers after so many seasons.
