director Chad Stahelski of John Wick franchise, has acquired the rights to best-selling author Jonathan Maberry’s “Joe Ledger” book series through its 87Eleven Entertainment production company and is developing it into a television show.
The Joe Ledger thriller series consists of 10 novels and various spin-offs. Its protagonist, Joe Ledger, is a psychologically broken Baltimore detective who is secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force called the Military Science Division to fight terrorists using cutting-edge scientific weapons. Along with the resources of his war dog Ghost, a Tier 1 Special Forces team, and the mysterious Mr. Church, Joe faces a threat that no other team can stop.
Stahelski said of the project:
“I really enjoyed reading the Joe Ledger series. It’s a historically epic action series full of intrigue, suspense, and engaging characters. When I read it, I could see the immediate cinematic potential. I was very It’s a pleasure to work with Jonathan on turning this into a TV series.
Marbury said of the team:
