Believe it or not, the Sega Dreamcast turns 25 today. What’s more important when I think back to my formative years playing games is tim walz youngwhich was the first console I thought of. I’m sure if I were to go through one of my closets right now I wouldn’t be able to ground my closet, I’ve played a similar game on Energy Stone, Justice Planand Sonic Adventure. A game for all intents and purposes Tell me the sky is the limit When I was a little kid.
The Dreamcast wasn’t exactly the most popular console choice at the time. No, that honor will go to the PlayStation 2, which remains the best-selling console of all time. Competition is fierce, you know? But it’s my favorite, and remains an oddity in the console world. For better or worse, there will never be another Dreamcast.
Fast forward 25 years and you’ll still find people who support the Dreamcast (like me!). Its failure is due to many factors beyond the scope of SEGAcontrol, but this did not prevent Dreamcast comes from generating hits and once-in-a-lifetime gameslike jet radiobefore its premature demise. It’s down, but it’s down a lot.
To commemorate two and a half centuries of the Dreamcast, Limited Run Games, a storefront known for celebrating old hardware and redistributing classic software, is now available selling goods related to it. Below you will find collectibles such as monthly trading cardsskateboard decks and keychains, as well as apparel such as hoodies and caps, all feature the console’s branding, right down to the orange spiral and “it’s thinking” slogan.
I’m not one for physical goods and am often hesitant about video game apparel due to the lack of style, sound and taste, but even so I am Saw something for sale here. The Dreamcast doesn’t often get this much love! The collection isn’t particularly dazzling, but it’s not an eyesore either, and considering fall is just around the corner, I’m looking for my gazillion black hoodies to add to the mix. There’s something for everyone here, which is true to the spirit of the Dreamcast. Now, it’s time to pay homage to “The Goat” by trying some kick flips on your skateboard to eat shit.
