Many of the new DCU projects haven’t had much updates in a while, but DC Studios co-head James Gunn wants you to know that doesn’t mean they’ve been cancelled.
So far, the projects we’ve heard the most about since the new DCU was announced a few years ago are Gunn’s Superman movie, a Supergirl movie, The Lantern Show, Peacemaker Season 2, and Biocommands (the revamped The first project) Cinematic Universe will be released later this year. But there haven’t been that many updates on a slew of projects that have been announced since the new DCU was revealed, like Swamp Thing from Logan director James Mangold, as well as the Batman movie Brave and “The Bold,” which for some reason was directed by “The Flash’s” Andy Muschietti (we chalk that up to Warner Bros.’ Andy).

Because the word “patience” doesn’t seem to be in the lexicon bought by comics fans, the lack of updates on certain projects and rumors of unreliable sources have some fans concerned. So Gunn, as he has done so often lately, took to Threads to allay some of those concerns, such as when one fan asked if Swamp Thing had been canceled, to which the filmmaker simply replied: ” No. What makes you think that?
Another fan then asked if the live-action Teenage Fighter movie that was reported to be in the works earlier this year was in pre-production, to which Gunn did not respond directly. But after the fan said that Production Weekly, a media outlet that focuses on the stages of various movies, said Teen Titans was in pre-production, Gunn explained: “Production Weekly is often completely wrong. No. Know where they get their information from.
The DCU co-head was also asked about Thrones and whether it’s in pre-production or dormant, with Gunn bluntly explaining: “Those are not the only two options. There are scripts in development, either. Screenwriters are being sought, or writers are waiting for them. “When the scripts are complete and ready for production, they are approved and then ready to go into production. ”
To show that everything is fine, when Gunn was asked by another fan (gosh, they asked a lot of questions) if everything else was in development, he simply said “yes.” Now there you have it – stop worrying about these movies and TV shows and go do something else. Bingo, maybe? Bingo looks like fun. Bingo.
