According to the latest data from Circana, total U.S. spending on video game hardware, content and accessories is expected to grow 10% in October this year compared with the same period last year, reaching $4.7 billion.
This growth was driven by growth in hardware and content sales.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Even though it was released in the last week of October, it was still the best-selling video game of October. It is also the third best-selling video game so far this year.
Other highlights from Circana’s report included a 12% increase in video game content sales from a year ago, to $4.2 billion. Gaming consoles are the most important contributor to this growth.
Non-mobile gaming subscription spending also grew 16% compared to October last year, thanks to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Become part of Xbox Game Pass.

The only significant ranking change in October was Pokemon GO (+14%) and Brawl Stars (-19%) swap places.
“However, there is a bigger story going on behind the scenes: Monopoly! Sensor Tower’s Samuel Aune said U.S. revenue fell 20% last month. “The game’s revenue in May and June 2024 increased by 50% compared to October 2024. Another big story was recently released Pokémon TCG Pocketwhich looks to be launching this year. The game surpassed the $30 million milestone in global in-app spending just one week after launch, with 22% coming from the United States (44% from Japan).
Consumer spending on accessories increased by 15%. While overall spending is up, not all of it is up. Hardware spending sales fell 23% compared to October last year.
