10 victims rescued in sting operation
The California Department of Justice announced Tuesday that it and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force arrested and recovered 14 human trafficking victims during a human trafficking operation during the San Diego Comic-Con event from July 25 to 27. 10 victims of human trafficking.
The operation involved law enforcement officers who worked undercover at events, posing as sex buyers to contact potential victims and posting undercover ads soliciting sex acts in an effort to catch traffickers, the announcement added. The operation rescued nine adult victims and a 16-year-old girl.
San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 25-28 at the San Diego Convention Center.
