Calamity launches final playtest with prize pool of $4,400

Upcoming 2D action RPG Calamity has launched its final playtest, giving players a chance to compete for a $4,400 prize pool.

The game test runs from September 3 to September 13, allowing Artifact holders to experience game mechanics, participate in competitions, and prepare for the Play to Airdrop (P2A) event.

The game test marks the last opportunity for players to adjust their strategies before the game token airdrop distribution begins.

What is a disaster?

Calamity is a 2D top-down action RPG inspired by genre-defining games like World of Warcraft and Diablo, where players can immerse themselves in a massive world and experience both PvE and PvP modes. PvE dungeons challenge players to clear waves of increasingly difficult enemies for greater rewards, while PvP arenas offer competitive combat, including duels and skirmishes.

The game features a unique class system that ties characters directly to the player’s weapon of choice, allowing them to seamlessly switch between warrior, archer, and mage classes.

A player-driven economy is at the heart of the gameplay, and items can be bought, sold or traded through the auction house. Equipment at the blacksmith can be further enhanced by repairing, salvaging, or merging items, while the gem system allows for additional customization of equipment.

The game also includes NFTs called Artifacts, which provide in-game benefits such as increased experience points and loot.

How do I participate in the playtest?

To participate in the final game test, players must first obtain Artifact NFTs from the Calamity series available on OpenSea.

After obtaining the artifact, they need to verify its ownership in Calamity’s Discord server. After verification, players can request access codes through the support channel on Discord.

This code grants access to the game on the Epic Games Store, allowing you to participate in game testing.

What are the benefits to participants?

Playtest participants can compete in two games for prizes totaling $4,400.

this In-game event competition Players who reach the highest level in the Warrior, Archer, and Mage professions will be rewarded. The top three players in each level will receive 200 USDT, while the first player to reach level 25 in each level will receive an additional 200 USDT.

For those interested in creating content, Content creation competition Players are encouraged to submit videos containing gameplay highlights, guides, or speedruns. The top 10 best submissions, as selected by the Calamity team, will each win 200 USDT. Content must be shared on X and a link submitted in the game’s Discord by September 16th.

After this game test, Calamity’s game airdrop event will begin to reward players for their efforts in the game.
