As I’ve mentioned in a few posts before, I’m moving at the end of the month, which means I’ve been looking through dark, dusty, forgotten corners of my apartment for things I’ll take with me and things I can recycle and throw away thing.
I recently discovered a bunch of DC Comics promotional material that was originally mailed to me in a large envelope along with a review copy that I received while writing for DC Comics comic book resources‘ Robot 6 Blog and/or Comics Alliance (Sadly, both no longer exist).
I’m not really a poster person, so they never hung on my wall, but I also didn’t feel right throwing them in the trash, so they ended up in the corner of my closet next to all my dust box. my pet halfling, Mothman comics and Ghost in the bathroom.
Now I have to vacate these homes and I have to decide what to do with them. so! If anyone reading this (and living in the US) has any need for any of the content below, please mail me $1 (for postage, although I’ll be happy to accept more If you want to buy me a coffee or help cover the costs, than $1 DC and DC Marvel Omnibus).
Oh, and if you’d like to help lighten the weight of these mini comic boxes, send me three dollars and indicate which one you’d like (to contact me for my mailing address, my email address is on the right.)
Well this is what I have…
•Poster for Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s 2019 miniseries Batman: The Last Knight on EarthCapullo’s image was taken from the cover of the first issue of the series.
• “Year of the Villain” poster, apparently advertising the many 2019 DC comics that share the brand, including The Batman Who Laughs, Bane, Lex Luthor and Cheetah, as well as the new cosmic entity Perpetua (I think That’s the guy; the storyline didn’t really appeal to me), also Drawn by Kaprow.
•Poster revealed for Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp’s 2019 limited series green lanternfeaturing Sharpe’s art, taken from the cover of the first issue of the series.
•This undeniably cool Wonder Woman poster shows the visual evolution of the heroine over her first 75 years. If I had the money to frame it and the space to hang it, I wouldn’t mind framing it and hanging it on the wall. Not sure who the artist is, but it looks like the various Wonder Women were drawn by the same artist in the style of different artists, rather than using those artists’ original images.
•2015 “Activity” bumper stickers Prez The miniseries, created by Mark Russell and Ben Caldwell, features Caldwell’s Beth Ross version of the character.
•one daily planet The front page featured a story about Lois Lane and a picture of John Romita Jr., apparently related to Brian Michael Bendis’s events in the series, in which Superman’s Clark Kent’s secret identity was once again revealed. I’m…really not sure if this has been rebooted.
•Finally, Richard “Dick” Grayson’s own wallet-sized spiral ID card, from the character’s brief period as a secret agent rather than a superhero, circa 2014-2016 grayson series.
I still have a few posters, but I recycled one before I thought of doing this, and the others looked too dirty and worn to be sold to anyone, even for the very low price of $1.
Anyway, if you’re interested in any of these, please let me know. The offer lasts until the end of the month!
