Although NYCC’s comics program left a lot to be desired at this year’s show, comics sellers are still fighting hard to make sure the show lives up to its name. One of the sellers is Brooklyn’s own bulletproof comicsowner Hank Kwon He is always open to conversation and recommendations. He always makes sure the store has a presence at the show, offering guest autographs and exclusive variant covers, and this year is no different.
This year, Bulletproof is selling new iron man Comics, author: Spencer Ackerman And by Julius Ohtaeven before it hits the market. Ackerman will spend the entire weekend with creators Haiying, Roy Okupe, Brandon Eastonand Damien Scott.
For those looking for some unique art, Damien Scott will be selling stickers, lithographs and a sketchbook depicting abstract portraits of some of the most influential public figures of modern times. It’s a sight to behold. Each portrait contains so much detail and their composition is so impeccably crafted that you need to buy it so you can go through each portrait at your own pace.
Bulletproof is one of New York comics’ greatest survivors. Hank is always innovating to keep his store current amid market fluctuations and profitable with key changes in product to stay competitive (a major shift to comics has proven highly successful, along with a focus on single-issue graphic novels Sales took a more focused approach).
During the pandemic, the store began hosting streaming auctions featuring some of the rarer and more valuable comics in stock. Hank’s Auction, which continues to this day, is a highly anticipated comic gathering that brings the store to fans who may not have easy access to it and those who can’t get enough of the Bulletproof experience.

Hank’s is one of the few stores that can bring the sense of community it fosters at its brick-and-mortar store (2178 Nostrand Ave., Brooklyn) to the conference floor.
