Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade roundup for August 1, 2024. It’s Thursday and we have a lot of games to watch today. But first, our friend Mikhail has some hot news for you to read. I’ll meet with you afterward to go over the new releases and then we’ll settle in and go over cozy, typical expiring and new sales listings. Let’s get to work!

Xiaoxin: White and Coal Town will be released in October
Neos Corporation has just announced Xiaoxin: Baiyu Coal Town It finally comes to the West on Switch (and Steam) this October. In addition to the digital version, there are also plans to release a physical version through Limited Run Games. Xiaoxin: Baiyu Coal Town It will cost $39.99 on Switch and will also be bundled with the first game. i like the first one crayon shin-chan Switching games is quite a bit, so hopefully this game ends up being good. I saw it in Singapore and almost bought it since we might not see a localized version. I’m glad I didn’t release it in the West anytime soon. ——Mikhail Madanani
Xiaoxin: White and Coal Town will be released in October
Sega has released Super Monkey Ball Banana Wars featuring Tails, Knuckles and Amy in the Sonic franchise. If you haven’t figured it out yet, read our review here. This week’s new update is another part of SEGA Pass, which includes 6 characters that will be released along with customization options and more. What’s more noteworthy is that Sega has fixed a major performance issue that caused frame skipping in the game. It feels much better now on Switch, but still needs more optimization work. ——Mikhail Madanani

Tumba! Special Edition ($19.99)
Call him Tombi, call him Tomba, but don’t call him late for the roast pig. The classic PlayStation platform adventure game created by former Capcom employees is now available on Switch special edition From a limited run game. You get most of the usual Carbon Engine features like save states and filters, as well as a very cool museum mode where you can view scans of packaging, manuals, production art, and development files. You can also watch some videos about the game, including an interview with the legendary Professor F himself. I’ll be reviewing this soon, but so far I’ve found a few minor issues that hurt the experience somewhat. Still nice to see tomb But back.
Thank God you are here! ($19.99)
I don’t think there’s a more British game than this. You play a traveling salesman who holds a large meeting with the mayor of a small town in northern England. You got there a little early, so you decided to kill some time by checking out the town and meeting some of the residents. The game describes itself as a comedy wrestling game, and from what I’ve heard so far, it’s pretty good. If you’re looking for a laugh or two today, this might be what you’re after.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter ($19.99)
another port Star Wars Games from the Xbox/PlayStation 2/GameCube era. The game focuses on the adventures of Jango Fett as he hunts down the Dark Jedi on behalf of the Republic. You have a variety of weapons, and a cool jetpack. Once again, Aspyr has taken care of this, so you might want to wait and see how hot it gets before picking it up. That’s it.
Hakuoki: Chronicle of Wind and Flowers ($49.99)
Two classic songs Otome The visual novel series has been remastered on Switch in this collection. “Edo Flower” and “Kyoto Style” are translated slightly differently, giving you plenty of opportunities to make your choice and kiss your favorite samurai handsome guy. For the price you pay here you can get pretty good sales if you like Otome Visual novels, and somehow haven’t played these before, which is a good reason to change this.
Mars 2120 ($19.99)
QUByte seems to be swinging a lot harder on this release than its usual releases. This is a Metroidvania-style action-adventure game set on Mars. You play a woman named Thirteen and investigate the source of the distress signal. What she discovers exceeds her wildest expectations. The game relies heavily on a combination of melee and ranged combat, and your move repertoire grows as you gain new abilities. I’ll be reviewing this soon, so you can expect more details.
Operation Tango ($19.99)
This is an interesting thing. It’s a game about conducting espionage, where one player is the spy and the other player is essentially their “person in the chair” delivering information to them from a distance. , because it really takes two people to tango. I should stop here because this is a perfect mic drop cable. But to add, a Friend Pass will be available after the game launches, allowing you to play with friends who don’t own the game, with instant cross-platform play. Oh, and you have to play online. How the rules work.
Trinity Fusion ($19.99)
Checking the box for this week’s roguelite action platformer is Trinity Fusion, which happens to have a free demo that you can try out and see if it works for you. From the looks of things, you’re traveling across the multiverse. You’ll control your parallel selves as they experience their own versions of the world, making overall progress in each run. You know how this sort of thing works. The only real question is whether it’s good, and the answer is: download the demo and see what you think.
Franz Tour ($9.99)
This type of game looks cute. This is a platform game where you play as a young witch on a quest to get her heart stolen from a magical academy. Along the way you’ll acquire a variety of magical spells and hats to help you solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and move on. Don’t forget to grab any gems you see as you can use them to buy upgrades. For fans of platformers, today seems like a good choice.
Landma($13.99)
This is an intense strategy game where you control a tribe of Vikings as they take their first steps into Iceland. You need to explore the land, and it’s best to be prepared before winter arrives. There’s no combat in this game, as you’re really just exploring around and settling in the land. Of course, such a concept is simplified, but whether this is a good or bad thing depends on the individual. At least on the computer it has good reviews.
Naked Butt Boxing ($14.99)
Look, I don’t know if this game is good or not, I just wanted to write “Naked butt boxing“I know I’m going to get paid for this work. With local multiplayer, up to four players can take part in what I’m sure is an excellent sporting event. Aliens are fighting around Earth with their asses hanging out, What else do you want in a video game?
Chef Chen ($23.99)
A magical cooking competition set in a fantasy world where you have to source ingredients on the spot and face all the dangers this approach can bring. Up to four people can play simultaneously via local multiplayer in this party action game. It’s definitely rough around the edges, but does it actually work? If you host game nights regularly and need to add something fresh to the usual mix, this might be an option worth trying.
Arcade Archives Final Round ($7.99)
Konami’s 1988 boxing game? Well, this is a little different than what we usually see Arcade Archives, isn’t it? It’s not too shabby by any means, and we’re not immersed in a great classic boxing game either. Arcade Archives. If you need a break from shooters, platformers, beat ’em ups, and fighting games, you might want to give it a try. As Konami games go, this is somewhat unknown.
Reincarnation($2.99)
It’s a grim game about flying to heaven, but it’s endless, so good luck with that. But hey, at least you can be a dragon? It costs three yuan and is quite fashionable. For some people this may be enough.
Werewolf Goldfish ($5.00)
At first glance, this looks like another goldfish game from SAT-BOX, and in some ways I think it is. But in this game, one of the players is a werewolf goldfish, which swims among ordinary fish and needs to pass checkpoints carefully. The other players are tacklers and their goal is to pull up the werewolf goldfish. Up to four people can join in locally or over the Internet, and multiplayer is really the way to play this game. Being alone is no fun at all.

(North American e-store, US prices)
Not a lot in my inbox today, but I guess that’s how it goes these days. The outbox is also a bit quiet. There’s really nothing on either list that I’d be willing to take up arms with, but you can take a look for yourself and see if we need to sign up for a blood feud.

I hope you all have an exciting Thursday, and as always, thank you for reading!
