At least not someone like Cate Blanchettthe latest star less respected Borderlands adaptshe revealed in a new interview that she basically got paid to eat sandwiches in the movie.
Blanchett was already nominated for an Academy Award when she played the high elf Galadriel in Jackson’s version of Tolkien’s fantasy novel. among Borderlands Media tour this weekshe was asked on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen (via deadline) which movie made her the most money during her career.
Cohn was asked to guess, and when he brought up “Lord of the Rings,” Blanchett scoffed. “Are you kidding me?” she said. “No, no one was paid anything to make this movie.” The actor is best known for playing Queen Elizabeth I and more recently for playing a disgraced orchestra conductor. storehousesaid she wanted to work with Jackson for his cult zombie classic brain dead (called come back to life in the United States).
“I basically got a free sandwich,” Blanchett told Cohen. “And I have to be vigilant.” She explained that in the early days of the “Lord of the Rings” movies, it was uncommon for actors to perform at the box office, adding, “Women weren’t paid as much as you might think.”
