    ‘Borderland’ star says ‘Lord of the Rings’ paid her with sandwiches

    Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings The trilogy grossed over $1 billion at the box office, but apparently none of that really benefited the actors. At least not someone like Cate Blanchettthe latest star less respected Borderlands adaptshe revealed in a new interview that she basically got paid to eat sandwiches in the movie.

    “I basically got a free sandwich,” Blanchett told Cohen. “And I have to be vigilant.” She explained that in the early days of the “Lord of the Rings” movies, it was uncommon for actors to perform at the box office, adding, “Women weren’t paid as much as you might think.”
