director Bobby Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber and There’s something about Mary) has found his next film project, a “Roots”-style family vacation comedy called Sponge’s Partywhich is loosely inspired by real events.
This project is built at Amazon MGM Studios and comes from specifications written by Aaron and Will Eisenbergthe studio recently acquired cobra kaiProduced by Counterbalance Entertainment.

Farrelly has recently been involved in projects such as Special Olympics Comedy champion Starring Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olsen. He has also been part of popular shows such as Loudermilk and trailer park boysand award-winning documentaries havana’s lost son.
The filmmaker’s most recent film project is Paramount Pictures’ holiday comedy Dear Santa Clausstarring Jack Black.
Counterbalance Entertainment is led by writer/producer/director Josh Heard, Jon Hurwitzand Hayden Schlossberg They’ve been working on the final season cobra kai.
