For those of you still mourning CBS’ confusing decision to cancel Blue Bloods , we have bad news.
Last month, we reported that a Blue Bloods spinoff appeared to be in development.
Our report is based on a speech by Paramount co-chief executive Brian Robbins at the shareholder meeting.
“In television, there will be new franchises on ‘Dragon,’ ‘Billions,’ and ‘Blue Bloods,'” Robbins said at the time.
We’ve known about Dexter: Original Sin for a while, but this is the first time anyone’s heard of a Blue Bloods spinoff.

Needless to say, excitement among disgruntled fans soon reached a fever pitch.
While Robbins didn’t offer any specific details, it’s widely believed CBS will have something in the works for the fall 2025 season schedule.
However, it now appears that these assumptions are premature.
According to a new report from Deadline , a spinoff centered on Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Regan character “hasn’t materialized.”
It’s unclear why the project was shelved, but there’s currently no alternative and no timeline for a Blue Bloods spinoff.
“We don’t have anything in development soon, but it’s a brand, a title and a beloved show,” CBS Studios president David Stapf told Deadline.
“We have to get things right, so we’re taking the time to try to figure out, ‘OK, what’s the next version of Blue Bloods?'”
Stapf went on to claim that network executives are currently focused on the upcoming final episodes of “Blue Bloods” rather than plans after the show ends.
“We’ve got a whole season left and we’re going to celebrate the whole season … so we’ve still got time to figure this out.”

Meanwhile, despite fan efforts to save the beloved series, CBS Entertainment’s president has confirmed that the series premiering this fall will be the show’s last.
“We love this cast and we love their passion for this show. All the shows have to come to an end. It’s important for us to update the schedule,” Reisenbach said in May.
“We’re wrapping up the show in December.”
Well, it’s nice to know they’re taking the time to get things right.
But something tells us blue blood diehards won’t be excited about today’s update.
