The Black Ops 6 beta launched last weekend, causing some polarization. Call of Duty players are divided over the new changes to movement and kill times. Although many people are interested in the new body shield/hostage mechanic, there have been a lot of complaints about the feel of the game in the first few days of the beta.
One thing everyone agrees on, however, is that weapon upgrades in the beta are painfully slow. In fact, it’s so slow it feels like a bug.

You’re not imagining things; Even a basic set of accessories for your chosen weapon does take multiple playthroughs to unlock. The good news is that the weapon XP earning rate in the Black Ops 6 beta is indeed not what Treyarch wants.
Bad news? We will stick with the current weapon XP earning rate throughout the first weekend of the beta. Treyarch confirmed that changes will be made, but not until the second testing weekend, which begins on Friday, September 6.
The developers have rolled out a few smaller patches – as well as playlist updates that add new maps and modes, so having to deal with the current weapon XP earning rate for the rest of the weekend is a bit annoying.
Nonetheless, Treyarch’s associate design director Lawrence Metten revealed the developer’s intention to change this on Twitter. Metten responded to a tweet complaining about the speed at which weapons earned XP in the beta.
“We will be polishing weapon XP at the end of the second week. Weapon upgrades are currently slower than expected,” Metten said.
The first beta weekend for Black Ops 6 will run until Wednesday, September 4th. Chance.
