Binance Adds Goplus Security (GPS) to the watchlist

Binance announced that Goplus Security (GPS) will be placed on the watch list starting March 7, 2025. This decision follows a sharp decline and unusual commercial activity.

Why put GPs on surveillance lists?

Binance tagged GPS tokens due to concerns about market manipulation and extreme price volatility. Key reasons include:

    • Large Token Selling – A market maker sold 70 million GPS tokens between March 4, 2025 (8:00 pm) and March 5, 2025 (4:55 pm).
    • No purchase orders – Market makers did not buy any GPS tokens during this period, which raised concerns about price stability.
    • Continuous Sales After Spot Trading Launch – Market Makers continue to sell tokens after GPs list, further reducing prices.
    • Great profits – The market maker made about $5 million from sales, benefiting the most from these industries.

As a result, Erqian suspended the market maker’s account and conducted a detailed investigation.

    What does surveillance tag mean?

Tokens with monitoring tags have higher risk and greater volatility than tokens listed regularly. Binance closely monitors these assets and reviews them regularly to ensure compliance with listing standards.

Traders must complete a risk awareness test every 90 days before they can continue trading these tokens. This rule applies to spot and margin trading. The monitoring tag appears on the Token’s trading page and market overview section, as well as the visible risk warning banner.

    What will happen next?

Binance will continue to review GPS and decide whether to delete or retain the monitoring tag. If further issues arise, binance may stand out from the platform. Before making the final decision, the exchange evaluates tokens based on liquidity, security and overall market behavior.

Before investing in GPS or any other token with a surveillance tag, traders should be aware of Binance’s updates and understand the risks.
