It almost feels like a sentence from another world, but we wrote it anyway. After nearly 40 years, the sequel Beetlejuice A film directed by Tim Burton is about to be released. Michael Keaton returns as The Biggest Ghost, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara also reprise their roles as Ms. Deitz, and now Jenna Ortega joins Monica Bellucci, Justin Thay Rocks joined the group alongside Willem Dafoe.
After years of rumors, discussion, speculation and anticipation, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released on September 6, kicking off our 2024 fall movie season. And some comments have quietly disappeared with social media embargoes ahead of a larger comment embargo being broken next week. Was the nearly four-year wait between sequels worth it? So, it seems like almost everyone who shared their opinion today thought the movie was well done! Michael Keaton gets a lot of praise, which is exciting. Many agree the story was worth the wait. And, some say, even if it’s not as great as the original – how could it be? That’s pretty much the best anyone can say about such a long-awaited, highly anticipated sequel.
This will all get murkier next week when all media are allowed to comment, but so far so good. If you’re like us and worried about forty years from now, Beetlejuice Already dead, apparently that’s not the case. Guys like Burton, Keaton, Ryder and the crew aren’t going to come back and risk screwing up Beetlejuice Unless they knew they had a movie worth making—and it seems they did.
