Baldur’s Gate 3 yes More than one year old nowdeveloper Larian Studios is still bringing a slew of new features to the RPG in its upcoming eighth patch. Some of these features were announced a while ago but are finally coming to the game via this update, which appears to have been months in the past. Larian plans to do some stress testing of Patch 8 on all platforms in January, so it sounds like the update will be rolling out to everyone later next year. Larian outlines most of the new features coming soon Baldur’s Gate 3 in a Long Steam Postlet’s unpack what’s about to happen.
The biggest new feature is cross-platform functionality, which the game desperately needs as its audience is spread across PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Once the feature goes live, it sounds like there won’t be any restrictions and you’ll be able to create cross-platform co-op lobbies no matter where you play. Baldur’s Gate 3.
In addition to cross-platform play, another great feature in Patch 8 is Photo Mode. If you’re like me and take over 1500 screenshots every time you play a video game, then this is probably music to your ears. Thankfully, Larian seems to be working on Baldur’s Gate 3including the typical camera, lens, and framing options, as well as more comprehensive options, such as the ability to pose characters to create dramatic or funny scenes.
Larian has also made significant changes to the subcategories for the game mechanic “sickos”, which will introduce a new subcategory for each base category in the game. For details on each, check out Larian’s full overview below:
Bard – Charm Academy
As a Charismatic Bard of the Academy, you’ll find you have the ability to heal friends and command enemies in equal measure. throw cloak of inspiration Give your ally 5 temporary health. If an enemy attacks while casting, they will find themselves Charmed. Play your hand correctly and you will be able to use it to your advantage Cloak of Majesty. Target a charmed enemy and you can order them to run away, move closer, freeze, fall to the ground, or drop their weapon.
Barbarian – Giant’s Causeway
Choose the Giant’s Causeway and your newfound giant powers will make it easier for you to get along with friends and foes alike. Forget about drinking potions to pump your muscles, these savages benefit from Giant’s Wrath Passive, Grants Strength and Size – Allows you to deal extra damage with thrown attacks. Are your pockets weighing you down? Not suitable for you and your increased carrying capacity!
Priest – Realm of Death
As a Death Priest, you’ll discover dark new tricks—from spells specifically designed to target undead damage to three new necromancy spells. This includes causing deatha cantrip that causes 1 to 8 points of damage when your priest rings the bells of impending doom – this number expands if your target has already taken damage. We’ve also added a homemade ability to explode nearby corpses, damaging enemies.
Druid – Star Circle
These druids look to the stars for answers, gaining power beyond what classic wild forms offer. Take on one of three people starry sky pattern Because of their power – Sagittarius, Cups and Dragon. Everyone prefers a different playstyle and strategy – the Archer deals radiant damage with astral arrows, the Life-giving Chalice restores health to you and others nearby, and the Wise Dragon lets you gain a Constitution check when you deal damage. Extra bonus. Star Form offers not only a celestial aesthetic, but also practical, powerful options to enhance your role as a healer, warrior, or strategist.
Paladin – Oath of the Crown

Guide your companions in battle justice clearstrategically interrupt and taunt enemies, and keep your team strong by sacred allegianceabsorbing their damage while restoring their health.
Warrior – Arcane Archer
Mastering the twin arts of magic and marksmanship, the Arcane Archer subclass offers unique skills on top of new shooting animations. Banish the enemy to the Feywild, removing them from the battlefield for one turn, or unleash psychic damage, forcing the enemy to make a Wisdom saving throw, or be blinded until the start of the next turn.
Monk-Drunken Master
Put beer into your home brew, and as the Drunk Master you can drink the alcohol directly from your inventory or from the bottles you see around the Sword Coast to restore vigor. By sharing the bottle with your enemies intoxicating hityou will generate buffs to your armor class and chance of hitting a drunk target. Drunk enemies are also susceptible to the Drunk Master’s other abilities, such as Sobering realization– Makes an intoxicated target sober, causing physical and mental damage.
Ranger – Guardian of the Swarm
The Swarm Keeper subclass provides Rangers with three deadly swarms to aid them in combat. this jellyfish cloud Deals extra lightning damage – which may shock your enemies. moth to flame Deals psychic damage, allowing you to potentially blind your enemies. this bee army Deals piercing damage and forces the enemy to make a stamina-saving throw or be knocked back 15 feet. Each swarm also gives you the ability to teleport!
Thief – Bluff
This rogue subclass introduces a host of new moves suited to the life of a pirate. Play dirty games by throwing sand at enemies blind them. Flick your weapon onto the target disarm them. or use your new fancy footwork Remain passive while meleeing enemies to ensure they cannot make attacks of opportunity against you for the remainder of their turns.
Magician – Shadow Magic
As a shadow magic wizard, you wield magic that makes you deadliest in the dark. This subcategory gives its wizard Advanced dark visionand the ability to film industry Between dimly lit or dark places. It also lets you summon the perfect homemade drink ominous dog harass your enemies and use The power of the grave Prevents you from getting knocked down – ideal for those trying out Honor Mode.
Warlock – Hexagonal Blade
The Six-Blade Warlock has made a pact with an entity from the Shadow Hell that takes the form of a magical weapon. Curse your enemies and force their souls to do your bidding. Kill any enemy that is not normally a natural elemental, a construct, a giant blob, or is dead and you will be able to resurrect their soul from their corpse for ten turns. This new summon deals necrotic damage and tears out a chunk of the enemy’s soul, providing healing for your Six Blade Warlock.
Wizard – Blade Song
The Swordsong subcategory blends swordsmanship with magic. There are new spellcasting animations when casting spells with weapons, and the new Bladesong ability gives you supernatural speed, agility, and focus, in addition to providing a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make.
