Legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons has died, TMZ reports. The cause of death has not been released. News of Simmons’ death came one day after his 76th birthday. In 2014, Simmons stopped making most public appearances, which led to rumors that he was being held against his will. In 2017, journalist Dan Taberski launched a podcast called “Missing Richard Simmons” investigating his sudden disappearance from public view. Speculation continued, and in 2022, Simmons issued a statement to the New York Post, assuring fans that he was “happy, healthy and living the life he chose.”
