Samsung has released new 1TB capacity models of its Pro Plus and Evo Select microSD cards. These are Samsung’s first 1TB microSD cards, perfect for anyone looking to make the most of storage space on their smartphone, Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. You can order the new 1TB microSD card from Amazon and Samsung’s online store, with the new generation 1TB Evo Select having an introductory price of $90 (normally $100). Amazon is temporarily out of stock, but you can still place an order and it will be shipped as soon as it becomes available. The 1TB Pro Plus model is in stock for $120.

Both 1TB Samsung cards have a U3 rating (Ultra Speed Level 3). These high-performance cards have transfer speeds fast enough to write and read 4K video. Any of these cards will pair perfectly with your Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. The Pro Plus’ average transfer speeds were slightly higher, with write speeds of up to 180MB/s, while the Evo Select’s write speeds were 160MB/s.
Especially the 1TB Evo Select, which costs $90, is a great value. You’ll get a faster card than the 1TB SanDisk Ultra (the most popular microSD card) for about the same price. Samsung’s Pro Plus card is excellent, but it’s priced higher than the Evo Select and competing cards with comparable speeds, such as the 1TB SanDisk Extreme, which is discounted to $92.60 and offers transfer speeds of up to 190MB/s.
In addition to these new models, the previous 512GB version of each model is also available on Amazon. The 512GB Pro Plus card gets a bigger discount, dropping it to $45 from its regular price of $75, but the nearly 30% discount on the Evo Select model is still worth considering, bringing the price down to $40 (originally $56).
More 1TB microSD card deals
While it’s great that Samsung finally has a 1TB microSD card, it’s certainly not the first company to offer a memory card of this size. Several other manufacturers also offer 1TB cards, and as mentioned above, the prices are more affordable than Samsung’s new 1TB option. We’ve rounded up a range of 1TB microSD cards below, all of which are compatible with the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.
