Black Ice Studios, the developer of tactical FPS “Ashes of Man: Citadel”, announced its partnership with Intel Gaming to integrate Intel’s next-generation upgrade technology, XeSS 2.
The partnership makes the game one of the first to use XeSS 2, which aims to improve performance and image quality for players using Intel Arc GPUs.
In addition to technical integration, the partnership also includes exclusive in-game content and community events. The game’s closed beta is scheduled to take place in early 2025, providing players with the opportunity to experience its dystopian world and tactical gameplay.
What is “The Ashes of Man”?
“Ashes of Mankind: Citadels” is a tactical first-person shooter (FPS) set in a dystopian science fiction world. Players navigate a competitive player versus player versus environment (PvPvE) environment, engaging in extraction-based missions where teamwork and strategy are crucial to success.
Developed by Black Ice Studios, the game features a modular loadout system that allows players to customize their equipment, allowing for diverse play styles and strategic depth. The game also emphasizes realistic combat mechanics, appealing to fans of tactical and immersive FPS games.
The game is in development and ready for release on platforms including Ultra, Epic Games Store, Razer Cortex, and GeForce Now. Its blockchain integration allows players to access certain features and a potential token-based economy, which sets it apart from more traditional games.
What are your expectations for this collaboration?
A partnership with Intel Gaming brings XeSS 2 technology to Ashes of Humanity, making it one of the first games to implement Intel’s latest GPU enhancements. XeSS 2 includes features such as Frame Generation (XeFG) and Low Latency (XeLL), designed to improve frame rates, responsiveness, and visual quality without requiring significant system resources.
Intel Arc GPU users will benefit most from this integration, resulting in smoother gaming experiences and better performance. The partnership also includes exclusive in-game content and community giveaways for players, including an early access pass to the game. These efforts are intended to build anticipation ahead of the game’s scheduled beta launch in early 2025.
Players interested in participating will soon be able to sign up via the official game website, while backers of the game’s Kickstarter campaign may be granted access based on the tier they choose.
