Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault earlier this year, and now there are reports that production on Good Omens Season 3 has been put on hold as a result.
Back in July, there was a report that Nail Gaiman had sexually assaulted multiple women, one of whom allegedly signed a nondisclosure agreement after her experience with the author, and others who had previously acted as caregivers for his children nanny. Gaiman has currently denied the accusations against him, but earlier this week, Deadline reported that production on Amazon Prime and the BBC’s adaptation of Good Omens, based on his relationship with Terry Pratchett, has been paused Co-authored book based on popular show.

While a spokesperson did not comment to Deadline, the outlet claimed to have heard discussions about possible production changes. However, Deadline reports that Gaiman himself has offered to leave the third and final season of Good Omens. This was apparently an effort to continue production, but according to Deadline , Gaiman doesn’t admit that any of the accusations are true. Amazon is reportedly considering Gaiman’s proposal but has not yet made a final decision. The show is currently in pre-production and was originally scheduled to be released in January 2025.
The show was renewed for a third and final season last year, with Gaiman returning as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Douglas Mackinnon was co-showrunner for the first two seasons, but there was no explanation why when he left. There are currently no plans for a fourth season, as Gaiman has previously stated that there will not be one.
Earlier this month, the film adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 young adult novel The Graveyard Book was also put on hold at Disney, though Deadline notes that the decision was apparently based on a variety of factors.
