We’ll start with an exclusive interview Sumire Uesakathe voice of Arya Arya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian. We hope you enjoy this exciting collaboration!
What is the common goal of Arya and Masaki…?
Arya wants to be the student body president. In order to help her realize her dream, Masachika Kuze joined the student union as a general committee member to provide her with support. However, standing in their path are Masaichi’s sister Yuki Suou and her maid Kimijima Ayano, as well as former rival for the junior high student council election Sayaka Taniyama, and her best friend Noa Miyamae. But between whispering “I love you,” kisses on the cheek, dinner dates, and more…no one can stop Arya and Jung-chi from deepening their connection! How will Masachika and Arya compete with their rivals on their journey to become student council presidents?
Arya sometimes hides her feelings in RussianThe addictive story of a cold-hearted girl who expresses her true emotions only in Russian finally comes to an end for the season. As the title suggests, the “hide your feelings in Russian” story element is truly unique, but how did the cast and crew pull off this premise? we interviewed Sumire UesakaVoice Arya and learn all about her take on the character.
Arya: A pet that only has a crush on its owner?
Sumire Uesaka Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou
The truth is, Arya never had any friends.
——You also voiced Arya in the promotional video for the original novel. Can you tell us your first impression? Arya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian?
Uesaka: This reminds me of the first romantic comedy light novel I read when I was a student, and I feel very nostalgic about it. But there are also some fresh plot devices that I’ve never seen before, such as a girl expressing her true feelings in Russian and the excitement of running for student council. These factors really attracted me.
——What do you think is the charm of the character Arya?
Uesaka: She usually talks pretty harshly to Masaki, but then says something flirty to him in Russian, which I think makes her the ideal arrogant (hot and cold) character. She wasn’t at all shy about hitting him with words before telling her true feelings in Russian, so I’m sure if anyone other than the main relative happened to understand Russian, their souls would be crushed too ( laugh). Apart from that, she has many other endearing qualities, such as being genuinely happy when someone calls her cute, or having no friends despite being a mature young lady, which makes her such an attractive person. heroine.
——How did you feel when you learned this? Arya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian Will it be adapted into an animation?
Uesaka: I’m really happy, but at the same time I can’t help but worry about their ability to replicate MomokoThe original illustrations in the novel are very beautiful. once i learned Toga Kobo Even though I was in charge of animation production, I was immediately relieved (laughs). Arya is absolutely adorable, as is the entire finished product.
——What was the idea of voicing Arya in the TV animation?
Uesaka: When I voiced her in the promotional video for the original novel, I chose to have her Russian lines delivered fairly evenly. But in the animation you can clearly see her expression, so I thought if I should try a different approach. I feel like it would be easy for my own performance to emphasize things, but I felt Arya’s cuteness from the animated clips I saw during the recording session, which made me want to create as soft an atmosphere as possible. I made a conscious effort to keep her tone cute despite her harsh words and demeanor.
——Is there anything special you pay attention to when delivering Russian lines?
Uesaka: Russian can be intimidating under normal circumstances. However, although Arya is a girl of Russian descent, her appearance and overall aura make people feel inaccessible, but deep down she is actually just an ordinary girl. After many consultations with the Russian supervisor and sound director, I tried to soften some of the voice and make all her Russian lines feel cuter. Maybe Russian speakers might be bothered by this, but my goal was to make Arya cute to people who don’t speak Russian, so I hope that’s reflected.
– You talk about Arya having no friends, but she shows a very different side of herself to people she feels comfortable with, like Masaki and Martha, compared to others. What are your thoughts on this?
Uesaka: Arya is basically wary of anyone other than Masachika and Martha. She is particularly wary of Yuki. Even as a member of the student council, she only contacts Chisaki and Momoya for business matters… Looking at it this way, she looks like a cat with trust issues. People describe her as a lonely ice princess, but the truth is that she is like a pet who only has feelings for its owner.
——Episode 6 so far, what do you think of the relationship between Arya and Masaki?
Uesaka: I think Arya must be very happy and relieved to have Masachika as her running partner. At first, she wanted to be the student council president herself, and even though she had no friends, she still had to choose someone. Because of her past, she tried to take it all on her own, but now Masashi lends a helping hand. Because of this, Arya begins to feel possessive about him. Meanwhile, Masachika is paving the way for her presidential career. Their unique relationship is so irresistible!
——Ayano, Yuki’s retainer, and Sayaka, who competes with them in the junior high school student council election, also appear, adding more turmoil to Arya’s journey as student council president. At the same time, her relationship with Zhengqin continues to deepen. What do you want viewers to notice?
Uesaka: Starting with episode seven, we see Ayano in her prime and touch on other topics, but most importantly the development of Masachika and Arya’s relationship. I hope viewers enjoy seeing their exciting pairing against Yuki over the student council president title. The bond they’ve developed through their romance and comedy so far will make things even more exciting to come, so stay tuned! Also, each episode has a different ending song, but my favorite song of all is from the second half of the season. Try to guess which one it is!
