Spotify will start showing in-app pricing information to EU iPhone users starting today after a year-long legal battle with Apple. Spotify said in an update to an old blog post that EU iPhone users will now see promotional offers and pricing information for each subscription tier, including how much the plan will cost after the promotion ends.
One thing missing is the inability to click on links to make purchases from outside the Apple App Store. Spotify said it chose to join the “music streaming service rights” launched after Apple was hit with a 1.84 billion euro (about $2 billion) antitrust fine by the European Union in March for “abusing its dominant position in music streaming.” ” Rather than accept the complex terms Apple outlined last week for new developers.
