Apple brought us the iPhone 16 series with built-in Apple Intelligence function at its “Glowtime” event on Monday. But the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max aren’t the only Apple devices getting this new AI feature.
Apple Intelligence includes AI-powered writing tools, photo editing capabilities, summaries and an overhauled Siri that will be compatible with other Apple devices in an upcoming operating system update. Some Apple Intelligence features will not be available in the latest update; many are expected to be available in the coming months.
Below are the Apple devices that support Apple Intelligence and when they will be available.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
CEO Tim Cook said at the event that all versions of iPhone 16 are “built from the ground up” and come equipped with Apple Intelligence.
Apple Intelligence will be available in iOS 18.1 beta in October.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
Announced at WWDC last spring, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were the first iPhones to feature Apple Intelligence. Sorry for those with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, Apple Intelligence is only available in the Pro version.
The Apple Intelligence beta will be available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the iOS 18.1 update in October this year.
iPad with M1 chip and above
Last spring, the iPad Air and iPad Pro finally gained some love. These include meaningful upgrades to displays and artificial intelligence capabilities for photo and video editing and graphic design.
At the same time, iPads equipped with M1 chips or higher will also be able to access Apple Intelligence. These include newer versions of the iPad Pro (currently equipped with an M4 chip) and iPad Air (equipped with an M2 chip).
Apple Intelligence will be available in beta on these models with the iPadOS 18.1 update in October.
Macs with M1 chips and later
With the macOS 15 Sequoia update, Macs will also get Apple Intelligence capabilities. These include iPhone mirroring, a “tile” feature that automatically organizes all apps, improved FaceTime, and a password app that competes with LastPass and Okta.
The Apple Intelligence feature is still in beta and will be available in macOS Sequoia 15.1 in October.
