Cherrypick Games has announced its next project, a sleek-looking survival game called Angst: A Tale of Survival. Poland-based Cherrypick Games is known for its range of free-to-play mobile games, but Angst is the studio’s first major paid game for PC and consoles.
The studio says that in terms of its target style and tone, fans can view the game as “Don’t Starve meets Don’t Starve meets Raiders meets Hades.” The game features a roguelite progression and is described as a “meditative, mission-driven narrative.” Watch the cinematic trailer below to get a feel for the tone, atmosphere, and setting of the game.
Players wake up in an old cabin in the middle of a frozen taiga with no idea what happened other than how they got caught in a horrific blizzard. Players try to discover what’s going on, but in a twist, things start to feel strangely familiar.
Angst is an atmospheric wilderness survival game where players explore a “hell-like world” where they can’t believe that everything they see is real.
“As you delve deeper into the snowy wilderness, you’ll encounter a series of biomes with unique characteristics and find new quests to unlock the secrets of this world’s mysterious past,” the game description reads. “To survive in this frozen kingdom, you must craft tools and weapons, hunt, fish, and upgrade your skills and equipment.”

Its developers say Angst prioritizes environmental exploration over more traditional combat and skill-based challenges. You can take a closer look at anxiety through the images in the gallery above.
Angst will be released on Steam Early Access in early 2025, and will be released on consoles and mobile devices later. Currently, you can wishlist the game on Steam.
