The red Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED is now back in stock at Amazon at a significant discount. US customers can purchase the console for just $299 (originally priced at $350). Not only is this the first time we’ve seen a significant discount on the Switch OLED Mario Edition, but it’s also been frequently out of stock since launching alongside Super Mario Bros. Miracle last October. This deal most likely won’t last long, so this is a great opportunity to buy one. Please note that inventory and pricing appear to vary depending on your region, so this offer may not be available to everyone.

If you want to pair the Mario Red Switch OLED with Super Mario Bros. Miracle, a game starring the famous plumber, it’s on sale at Walmart for $48 (originally $60). You can build your own side-scrolling levels in Super Mario Maker 2 for as low as $40 (regularly $60). For role-playing game fans, Super Mario RPG will cost $40 and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will cost $53 (both normally sell for $60).
If you’re looking for more special edition Nintendo Switch models, or you missed out on the discount, there’s also the upcoming The Legend of Zelda Gold Edition Switch Lite available for pre-order. The console will be released on September 26 alongside the latest game in the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which is also available for pre-order. If you buy the game from Best Buy, it even comes with a collectible acrylic character display set.
For those who prefer the full-size Switch model, Nintendo has also announced that it will launch a new Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle in October. The bundle will include a standard Nintendo Switch with red and blue Joy-Cons, or a Switch OLED model with white Joy-Cons, as well as a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a Nintendo Switch Online 12 Monthly subscription card (usually $4/month). Nintendo Switch Online lets you play a huge selection of games online, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and gives you access to a huge library of classic NES, SNES and GameBoy games. Exact release dates for the bundles haven’t been announced yet, but Nintendo confirmed that the standard Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle will cost $300, while the Switch OLED bundle will cost $350.
While we’ll still have to wait a while to see new Switch bundles and the special-edition Legend of Zelda Switch Lite, the new consoles will be available in time for Nintendo’s holiday game releases, including Mario Party on October 17 Big Bash” on October 17 and “Mario & Luigi: Brothers” on November 7. Games are coming soon, plus an awesome back catalog that makes buying the console worthwhile, including Donkey Kong Country: Return HD, Pokémon: ZA, and the long-awaited Galaxy “Warrior 4: Beyond” will both be released in 2025.
