The NFL’s season finale was filled with both heartfelt moments and over-the-top clichés, but it delivered a satisfying ending for Sperlivia fans. Spencer and Olivia finally tied the knot, overcoming a last-minute wedding venue disaster and a tight schedule. The couple’s road to their wedding was fraught with obstacles, but Spencer’s determination and the support of her friends made the big day happen against all odds.

This episode was filled with drama, in quintessentially American style. Olivia’s anxiety about the ruined wedding venue is palpable, but Spencer’s dogged determination keeps the day running smoothly. The maelstrom helps, delivering some humorous moments, especially Jordan’s light-hearted jokes amidst the chaos.

The venue crisis was resolved in an emotional twist when Spencer decided to hold the wedding in Crenshaw, using locally made décor from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This ties into the community’s involvement and Crenshaw’s importance in their lives. Olivia’s emotional breakdown is supported by her family, highlighting the group’s themes of unity and perseverance.

Coop’s subplot adds another layer to the finale, as she grapples with law school admissions and chooses to prioritize helping Spencer. This strengthens the deep connection between the characters, culminating in a touching wedding in the backyard of Spencer Crenshaw’s home.

The wedding itself was a highlight, with the heartfelt vows and reception seeming too good to be true but perfect for fans of the show. The community’s efforts to create a dream wedding in such a short time is a little mind-boggling, but fits the show’s feel-good narrative. Spencer’s thank you to his influential mentor and Jordan’s speech to his sister were poignant moments that added depth to the celebration. A touching moment between Coop and Spencer on the swing set, where they spent a lot of time as kids, was also a highlight. It was bittersweet to realize that these were their last moments on screen, but undeniably perfect.

As the episode ends, there are big changes on the horizon. Laura gives her home to Jordan and Leila, hinting at a new beginning. Mysterious revelations about Billy’s past and the mysterious brother no one knows about opens the door to future storylines that will hopefully keep current viewers invested enough to watch next season.

Although cliche, the final episode was a fitting farewell for Daniel Ezra’s Spencer. It commemorates his journey and the impact Crenshaw had on his life. The future of the NFL without its main characters remains uncertain, but this ending gives fans hope. As the show progresses, it needs to find new ways to engage viewers and maintain the spirit of Spencer’s story. For the last time this season, it’s your turn to have your say, all American fans! What did you think of the ending? Do you think you’ll adjust to next season without Daniel Ezra? What do you think the show’s fate will be?
