Hutchinson has agreed to continue the consultant to assist in the transition until a replacement is found.
Hutchinson joined Baltimore in November 2016 as president and CEO. As CEO of the city’s official destination sales and marketing organization, he helped the city become a viable option for conferences and conferences.
He helped New York City win a bid to host the 2033 Institute of Association Directors of the American Association (ASAE) annual conference and expo, which is expected to have an economic impact of $150-18 million.
He also helped to establish a tourism improvement zone that provides additional resources directly from the city’s hotels for sales and marketing efforts to earn tax revenue from visitors.
Hutchinson has over 30 years of experience in the destination marketing industry in cities such as Richmond, Pittsburgh and Mobile, Alabama.
He serves on numerous key industry committees including the American Tourism Association, tourism diversity affairs, and is chairman of the board of directors of Destinations Internationals. He is also the chairman of the Association for the Management of Religious Conferences.

After careful consideration, once I’ve come to fruition,” Hutchinson said.
