The victim, an anonymous woman wearing a hoodie and jeans, was crushed to death and lying in the middle of the woods. The only thing on the body was a library card, and Agatha found an old locket near the body. She investigates the library to find out what happened to the book – apparently, it was stolen and all the other books in the library were burned.
Then Aubrey Plaza shows up, posing as another detective who clearly knows more than Agatha and is amused by her predicament. So Agatha hatched a plan: She would form a new coven of covens, who would then walk the mythical path of witches, where they would get what they needed most, or something like that. So she and the unknown boy set out on a recruitment mission, and they gathered three witches: fortune teller Lilia Kaldru; Jennifer Kale, the potion master; and Alice Wu Gulliver ), a blood witch who has a very specific reason for taking this path. There’s also Agatha’s neighbor Mrs. Hart, who may or may not be a witch.
