The marketing and PR campaign for “Agatha Always” wasn’t Marvel Studios’ most successful, but we’ll happily admit that its countdown-to-release ASMR stream was pretty original. Wait, what?
The show is as big as it was two years ago, WandaVision (its TV predecessor) is still fresh, there’s a lot of hope for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, it’s received great reviews so far, and fans seem to be too Love this show.

After star Joe Locke (no Billy Maximoff at all, but certainly “teen”) hasn’t had the best press tour, and the previews released so far haven’t impressed even the MCU’s biggest die-hards There was an unexpected countdown stream that featured most of the main content and the cast worked overtime to play around with ASMR, which actually gave it a refreshing and fun feel that might lure people on the fence to see the show. Surprisingly, main lead Kathryn Hahn, who has reportedly been great throughout the series (no shocker), is absent That Most of the flow. Instead, Aubrey Plaza, Patty LuPone and Sahir Zamata had more time to play cards and various trinkets. Plaza was clearly having the most fun, and true sickos will surely appreciate her licking a knife and whispering in their ears before stabbing tree stumps.
Considering the resources Disney and Marvel have and the level of control they have over modern pop culture even in difficult times, this whole thing is a very silly but ultimately compelling effort that we’d like to see more of. You know, if we come across any more crap, we might as well extract some real laughs and memes out of it.
