Absurd Ventures, the company founded a few years ago by longtime Rockstar mainstay Dan Houser, has announced the launch of a new studio under its umbrella. The studio is called Absurd Marin, and its initial team includes several former developers from Ascendant Studios’ ill-fated Immortals of Aveum.

As of right now, the game sounds like it’s in the early stages of development, so its title hasn’t been announced yet. Back in May, some hiring information may have given us a better idea of what the game from Absurd’s main studio might look like or involve, although the company has kept it secret so far.
Even though we’ll likely have to wait a while to get more information, after Ascendant laid off “roughly 45%” of its staff this time last year, it’d be nice to see some Immortals developers get a chance to try making something else.
