According to a new report, DC studio chief James Gunnreportedly hired Luca Guadagnino (Dark wind, bones and all) Command Sgt. Rock movies.
Justin Kuritzkes was also invited to write a new script for the film. Guadagnino and Korizquez have collaborated on the following films: challenger and currently unpublished Queer.
Hollywood insider Jeff Snyder initially linked Luca Guadagnino to the DC project, which was eventually confirmed exclusively by Nexus Point News.
This is definitely a different kind of project for Guadagnino, as he doesn’t seem like the kind of director who wants to make a comic book movie.
Sgt. Created by Robert Kaniher and Joe Kubert, Franklin “Frank” Locke is primarily known for his leading role in the World War II themed comic series our troops at warlater changed its name to Sgt. rock. The sergeant first appeared in 1959. Locke is portrayed as a tough, no-nonsense infantryman who leads Easy Company, a group of battle-hardened soldiers in the European Theater of World War II.
Characterized by an unwavering sense of duty, superior fighting skills, and fierce loyalty to his men, Locke often serves as both a father and a protector.
His story is gritty and grounded, focusing on the brutal realities of war, the friendships between soldiers, and the personal toll of combat, making him one of DC’s iconic military heroes.
I’m a fan of Sgt. What Locke and I would most like to see is a DC movie set during World War II.
